11,10,2008 Simingdam welcomes Darren Taylor
Hi Welcome to my Judo blog.
My Judo started when I was about 11 my dad took me to the Budokan Judo Club run by Mr Ryder in Leeds. I competed at local level and received my junior high brown belt by the time I was 15. I used to train 8 hours a week, and taught a junior class. At the age of 16 my family emigrated to Spain. While in Spain I practised the nunchaks and did a bit of Kung fu as there were no judo clubs were we lived. Finally we moved back to the Uk and after a few years I went back to Judo deciding to start at white belt again, within 4 years I received my senior high brown, however 6 months before gradinga rather large green belt fell on me and I broke my ribs quiet badly, I could not work for a few months causing me many problems. I Healed and took up Mauy thai. But at the age of 45 the Judo bug called me once more and once again started from white belt, finally getting my Black belt this year. Better late than never.!!!

On my blog I would like pass on some interesting Judo stuff I have found on the web. Also other stuff that I think you might like.
I will start with some links to some great judo web sites and a few vids.

Great blog, loved the links( especially the animated website) and videos!!!!
Where else in the world, Royce Gracie, Ronnie Green and now Charlie Chaplin. Master Chaplin knew back then that the 9th Thai weapon is the HEAD, but to use your head, not hit with it.......More Please....
Thanks Darren, I've been wondering what the best defence against somebody going low and attacking your legs was for a stand up fighter. Found it on one of your judo videos, leaves the attacker vulnrable to elbows & knees to the head. Nice one keep up the good work.
